Frequently Asked Admissions Questions

Find clear answers to questions regarding degree selection, lateral entry routes, GPAT prerequisites, and career outcomes.

D.Pharm is a 2-year diploma program tailored for students seeking immediate registration as licensed pharmacists in retail pharmacies or hospital dispensaries. B.Pharm is a 4-year undergraduate degree required for pharmaceutical manufacturing, industrial QA/QC, drug analysis, clinical research, drug inspector posts, and higher postgraduate studies (M.Pharm).
Yes! Students who have successfully completed their D.Pharm from a PCI-recognized institution are eligible for Lateral Entry directly into the 2nd year (3rd semester) of B.Pharm through the JELET entrance examination or designated lateral admissions counseling.
GNIPST offers 7 distinct M.Pharm specializations: Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacognosy, and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology. Each program runs for 2 years (4 semesters) with a dedicated research dissertation.
While GPAT-qualified candidates receive preference and are eligible for AICTE postgraduate stipends, non-GPAT candidates can also gain admission based on their B.Pharm percentage and performance in university entrance counseling (PGET / MAKAUT guidelines).
