General Code of Rules

All registered students, faculty members, and researchers are expected to strictly adhere to the following institutional library regulations:

1

Book Issue & Loan Duration

Circulation

Four (4) books will be issued to registered members for a loan duration of 15 days. Special loan restrictions apply for items categorized as HIGH-USE or high-demand course references.

2

Physical Inspection & Damage Penalty

Care of Books

The physical condition of books must be carefully verified prior to issuing out. Any preexisting mutilation, missing pages, or markings must be immediately reported to the Circulation In-Charge. Members are held strictly responsible for any mutilation or damage and will be liable for penalties levied by the Librarian. Underlining, highlighting, dog-earing, and writing on pages is strictly forbidden.

3

Loss of Books & Replacement Clause

Liability

In the event of a lost book, the borrower is obligated to replace it with the identical or the latest available edition. If the replacement is not completed within 15 days, the defaulter shall be charged three times (3x) the market cost of the book.

4

Strict Non-Transferability of Cards & Loans

Membership

Borrowing books using another member's library identity card is strictly prohibited. Books issued to one student cannot be transferred, sub-loaned, or handed over to another reader.

5

Same-Day Return & Reference-Only Items

No borrowed document shall be accepted for return on the exact date of issue. Certain vital documents are strictly designated for consultation within library premises only; these include Reference Titles, Dictionaries, Current Periodicals, Pharmacopoeias, and Bound Journal Volumes.

6

Property Counter & Entry Gate Register

Entry Policy

All personal belongings, bags, umbrellas, and printed materials (except single notebooks) must be deposited in the property counter at the entrance. Every member entering the library premises must sign the physical entry register at the threshold.

7

Loud conversations, group disruptions, and telephone calls are strictly prohibited within the library and reading rooms. Readers are required to maintain utmost decorum and absolute academic discipline at all times.

8
